Wendy has been working with the Irish Refugee Council as a Communications Officer since August 2022. She is a seasoned communicator with experience in development sector communications, journalism, and research. Before joining the Council, she worked with GOAL Global in Dublin and the Community Working Group on Health in Zimbabwe, assisting in Communications. Passionate about social justice issues and human rights, Wendy, as a journalist, has been published by the Washington Post, The Economist, Christian Science Monitor, Bhekisisa, and The Guardian, among others. Her recent research publication is a chapter in Palgrave Macmillan’s Sustainable Development Goals 2022 series on Gender, Disability, and Tourism in Africa and contributed to A Bitter Harvest and Troubled Waters by Human Rights Watch.

Wendy holds an MSc in Public Policy from Dublin City University, a BSc Honours Degree in Political Science from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Diploma in Journalism and Communication from Christian College of Southern Africa.
