Have you been wondering what you can do to alleviate the plight of refugees. There are many acts, small and big, you can engage in and make a difference. Find a few below!

Educate Yourself

Understanding the facts is the first step in fostering a supportive community for refugees. Seek correct and credible information from authorities and experts. With knowledge, you identify false information and engage meaningfully with your loved ones. Please remember to help spread awareness within your networks.

Participate

Using your voice and right to participation effectively in national processes is a crucial step in ensuring that we have policies that work for all. For instance, we have a general election coming up-a momentous opportunity to choose leaders that respect our shared humanity and committed to deliver an Ireland that upholds the rights and protect the dignity of all people in Ireland.

Speak Up

There social issues facing communities across Ireland can be addressed with the political will. Community level advocacy is a powerful way to influence and work towards an Ireland that works for all. You could share concerns and possible solutions with your local representatives or join rallies organised to stand with those who have found safety here.

Volunteer

Offer your skills and time to help refugees or reach out and connect over a meal or whatever activity possible. Contact organisations that work with refugees in your area and see what help they may need.

Donate

Your financial contributions can make a huge difference. At Irish Refugee Council, your donation helps provide legal assistance, critical information and integration support to those fleeing wars and persecution.
